Default Extended gas tank rattle and air bag trick

I know there are a couple of posts about the extended gas tank rattle-clicking noise. I had the same issue with my previous 992, and the dealer fixed it a couple of years ago. However, I traded the car a few months after the fix with CS 24. For the first few miles, there were no issues until the 4000-mile mark, when I started to hear the same clinking rattle once the gas tank was full. The rattle subsides with half a tank empty. A few months back, I decided to take it to the same dealer that had fixed my previous car, but for some odd reason, they kept the car for two weeks and were unable to fix it. Not only could they not, but they also damaged the paint with numerous marks, and I had to repolish the entire car. The noise got even worse, or maybe I started to pay attention to it and look for it. After reading several posts, I elected not to take it to any dealer because they might damage something else, and their fix isn't permanent and will come back in a year. Also, one post mentioned that they have rebalanced or realigned the car, or something along those lines. So I attempted the air bag trick, placed a couple of them between the tank and the car's metal bar, as shown in the picture, refilled the tank to full, and the rattling sound subsided significantly. I have to remember to reinflate the bags at least every 2 months, which is ok.

So thanks to the member who came up with this trick, and I hope this post may help someone with a similar issue

Great trick, however; that is unacceptable that you would have to live with such an issue after paying so much for your car. You shouldn’t have to ride around with airbags to avoid fuel noise. Shame on Porsche. I would submit a letter to corporate and complain as your case should be looked into further.

Porsche got to fix the mounts on my gas tank three times. The third time I think they got it. Well over 3 years now and not a peep.
