Default Xpel Tracwrap

I can’t seem to find tracwrap on Amazon anymore. I see other Xpel products but not sure if it’s different from tracwrap… being temporary?

For those with experience, have you regretted doing ED au naturale?

Not one bit. Drove all the way down to Spain and back. Biggest issues were the windshield stars from the Nurburgring. Surprisingly, they were covered by the ED insurance. I had a 1000 Euro deductible. Had it replaced at dealer, and less than a week later I had an international wire for the difference. I got basically no rock chips in Europe and only a couple tiny ones driving home from the PEC ATL to California. Life is too short to not do ED, period. I'd also say it's too short to ruin all your ED pictures with a hastily installed car condom. Btw, there used to be the ability to have either the factory (911s only) or the Leipzig center install PPF. May still be possible with coordination.

I’d like to see the car with its original paint when delivered so I’ll do the PPF at home.
I do agree with you about the memories and pictures. Some of the pics I have seen online with tracwrap are pretty hideous.

That's fair. I had my paint correction/ceramic guy fill in the minor chips I got with touch up and it came out fine. I don't much care for PPF and since it survived the two road trips decided to forgo it as I won't be tracking the car. These cars seem to have a much slipperier profile than the BMW M cars I've had and haven't attracted nearly as many chips given what I've driven through thus far.

See if the shop you'll be getting PPF done can order it for you direct from Xpel. That's what I had done for my 911.

If you plan any track time, I recommend some kind of protection (PPF or temporary) on front and hips at minimum.

I may have to do that. I see 1 option on Amazon for $760. There are regular rolls listed for $100 and less but does anyone know if these can easily be removed after? Is the the tracwrap that different?

I’m not sure I’ll have time for the track but just wanted a little protection. Although everyone raves about how good the roads are over there. Maybe I don’t need it.

I did 4500 kms (2800 miles) all the way down to Spain and back and 4 laps on the Nurburgring and had basically no issues. One rock hit on the Autobahn the morning we were headed to the Ring and then another on the Ring because my buddy went into track mode when driving. I told him to take it easy and the next lap was fine. Some very tiny headlight chips and no paint chips. On my cross country trip here in the US I got about 3-4 minor rock chips. Driving in Europe is nothing like here. The trucks are all uniform, have to be covered and secured and all have proper mudflats. Construction projects are well kept and well swept. Cars are well maintained and there is never s**t flying off them. You'll never find refrigerators, mattresses, drywall, lawnmowers, etc. in the center divider or shoulders. Europe also doesn't have the same windswept desert/sand/gravel landscapes we have here. So, even when it is windy, it's not as strong or sustained and there is not as much flying around in the wind. So, even with a handful of tourist laps on the Ring, I wouldn't worry about it.

Thanks. I saw that. Anyone know if it’s as good?
