All - I'm going to organize an event in the Jackson, Wyoming area for the 3rd week in July this summer - tentatively the 13th - 19th July - this will be open to anyone who wants to come, but lodging is difficult in the summer in Wyoming, so plan early! My place is on the Alpine Airpark (46U) www.alpineairpark.com - there are are few hotels in Alpine, but much better choices in Jackson Hole, which is 25 min away. There are also hotels in Afton, Wyoming (30 min) and Idaho Falls, ID - (1hr).
The tentative agenda is to spend the first few days in the local area - a few drives through the local twisties, coupled with some technical symposiums. I plan on flying the infamous Mars in for the week, so we will talk him into sharing some of his deep PIWIS secrets! We can also do any programming onsite that anyone needs. I'm also going to see if we can get a few other interesting guys to come give symposiums on engines, tuning, etc. I should have my dyno up and working by then, so maybe we can get the guys from ME to come out??
I think we will try and organize an overnight drive up to Red Lodge, MT toward the end of the week as well. There are a TON of things to do, so open to any ideas.
coding matrix headlights on the tts! thanks @f4bones
what happens on the airfield stays on the airfield. tts is king! and wyoming fly fishing is epic like bones said. im hooked! going after river monsters tomorrow with a local guide.
I used to have a very close friend with a nice home at Alpine but sadly he sold it so I lost my place to stay and hangar. Do you have any room for a Citation out there for a night?
Sounds awesome, and now I have a first world problem: do I want to fly in or drive the 911?
It's actually a few days before Oshkosh Airventure (July 21-25), and I'll probably be at the pre-Oshkosh jet warbird event in Traverse City, Michigan that weekend. But I'd love to come to Alpine sometime.
What kind of Jet warbird do you have?? I have a few up in Alpine . . . will probably still have most of them in Alpine as I usually fly them up for the 4th. This year should have 4 F-5s, my S211, and my SF260TP. . . might have to do a F-5 flyover during the event. .. .
That is tempting. I grew up 90 minutes from Jackson and my family still owns a house in Afton where we could stay. Could be very fun trip in the Spyder RS.
And I would love to modify the headlight code on my SRS to european spec.
