991.2 BMC Air Filter Install Difficulty
So I thought the removal of twenty thousand parts, torx screws, and wiring harnesses was going to be the difficult part of installing a new BMC air filter in my relatively new to me 991.2, however, the real pain in the a$$ has proven to be installing the air filter itself.
The old air filter came off relatively easy but getting these hoses over the new BMC air filter has been a challenge. I've wrestled with these on both sides for over an hour with absolutely no luck. I'm curious if anyone else here has struggled with this part of the install and if so, what they were able to do to get it resolved. I tried a little silicon lubricant around the lip of the air filter to see if it would slide on easier but to no avail. If anyone has any tips or suggestions, I'm all ears. I think my next course of action if no one has any better ideas is to sand down the lip on the BMC filter to provide a bit more clearance.

I also found them to be a tough fit.
MIght try a little heat on the black parts to soften them a bit ( very hard plastic.)
or if you have a cone expander to enlarge the black part a little

I had the same problem, Once you get it on it the hose will conform to the new shape of the BMC filter. It helps to have two people to it. Getting your thumbs behind the flange on the filter while the other person pushes the hose one and it will pop on.
I used Dawn dish liquid to lubricate so that it will evaporate over time.

I used some filter oil when I swapped mine out - made the process much easier!
