Air filter housing locking pin
Changing my two air filters (new to me Cayenne Turbo) I find that all 4 locking pins do not have the little key at the end. Looking very close at the end of each one it does not look like anything has actually broken off though. It's very smooth with no cracks or plastic missing. Seems to hold together tight as well as is when re-assembled.
I'm inclined to leave it as is, would you, or buy new ones, only $10 each?

The little tabs only prevent the pin from sliding up and really do not matter as the rubber bushing provides plenty of friction and the pin will not come out on its own. Even without the bushing it would probably be fine in all but the most extreme scenarios. Incidentally, when I first purchased my car there was a large nail in place of one of my pins and it did not cause any issues. The kicker is I know the original owner and the car was only ever serviced at the dealer other than minor things like tires.

Coincidentally, I'm missing one and looked up the part yesterday.

Yeah, unless you're worried about someone breaking open your hood in the middle of the night to pull that pin out with pliers but without a flashlight...
