Disable start/stop PIWIS 3
Hi all,
Trying to disable or even set start/stop to last setting with PIWIS 3 developer mode but not having much luck.
Anyone have instructions? There are quite a few threads with instructions about disabling it in 2 places in the DME and one place in the front end electronics but nothing has worked and cycling the ignition looses the memory.
Car is a 19' built 20' RoW Macan

On a 2020 model can't you just press the console button to turn it off and is stays off forever?

My 11' Cayenne has that option where it remembers the last setting but this 20' Macan doesn't

I think if you do a web search there are people that make a module you can install which will shut it off permanently.

I did get it to say start stop disabled on the instrument cluster screen but then it reverted back and it started working again... Ugh.

These guys have a hardware module that remembers console settings. Had one in my 991.2 2017 Carrera. Check to see if they make one for the Macan.

On USA Macan models, you can set default to "off" by just pushing the button on the console. However, on my 991.2 911, the button must be pushed every time the car is started. The dealer said they have the ability to change to the "off" position as the default. But they refused to do this as it would be in violation of federal emissions regulations. What seems to be okay to do on some models is illegal on others??? Go figure...

Okay found it:
PIWIS 3 development mode:
1. Select 'BKE (bedien und Klimaeinheit)
2. Select coding programming / Manual coding without coding rules (development)
3. Coding value: Byte 2 Start/Stop - Last mode: select ein
4. Click next
5. Press start stop off button to on.
6. Cycle ignition if it stays activated (to off) it's successful
Interestingly it was already set to ' last mode' but it didn't work until I saved it again.
I don't actually think I needed to do this in development mode I think normal mode would have also worked.
No dongles or things to plug in etc. Only catch is you need a PIWIS3 or someone with one that would be willing to do it for you
I hate start stop it's dangerous IMO.

2024 Base stays off permanently unless you turn it back on, I wish all our other cars did this!

They must be able to if you use the instructions above. Although you'd have to have a dealer willing to do it. I find it so annoying and unsafe if you'd have to press the button eveytime you turn the car on!

Nope, my '23 S stays off as well. My '21 Land Rover Defender always reverts back to being on after every ignition cycle. I had my Defender's stop/start programmed to permanently stay off, and that has a 2.0 liter I4.
