Orange Side Markers
Yes I know, this topic again, but I wanted a definitive answer and personal experience if available.
I have a .2 coming in, it has the US orange side markers. I live in the mid-Atlantic region. I don't want to get pulled over, or give cops a reason to do so.
Has anyone actually been ticketed or pulled over because of having the clear markers? I'm not too concerned about inspection since I can always switch it back.

The clear corner lights have amber lights in them anyway. You won’t have any problems, I haven’t had issues in almost 15 years of daily driving.

The amber side markers never bothered me on my other cars, as much as they did on this one. And after about 4 months, I caved in and installed a set from Kies Motorsport. Attached a few before after pics and a short clip showing that the indicators remain amber.
If your concerned, leave them as-is. Otherwise, live with the car for a bit, and then decide if it bothers you enough to change them. To me, this mod is at the same level as not running a front license plate on the car.

This is not a traffic law the police enforce, its a DOT import requirement.

As a ex-cop I would say this is much lower on the list to get pulled over….front plate & tint are about the weakest stops cops make…but if you want pull someone over there is always a reason. You didn’t come to a complete stop (tires roll back), you stopped on a crosswalk, etc…If they want to pull you over, there is always a violation that can be found.
With that being said, I have no front plate, clear side markers, and tint that is likely illegal….. I am living on the edge!

Install the clears, as folks have already stated, you won't get pulled over or ticketed while parked for this. Every time you walk up to her, you'll smile with pride you took the plunge.

Your problem is not likely to be law enforcement. If your state has a state inspection program, that is the more likely problem. Several years ago I took my 911 to one of the local Porsche dealers and they refused to pass if for state inspection due to the clear side markers. I now use the other local Porsche dealer who has no problem passing it for inspection with the same markers. Go figure.
