Default Touring with salvage title

Would you purchase a .2 Touring with a salvage/rebuilt title? If so, how much would it be worth to you knowing the CarFax is aglow with this information.

Personally, no! But I wouldn't buy any car with a rebuilt title. If you're going to spend the money spend it right even if it costs you a bit more. Just my two cents.

No, why spend that for a salvage title.

Assuming OP is referring to this example https://www.crossjeepchrysler.com/in...c2a90js175388/

1. Price would need to fully reflect the rebuilt status. I don’t think $183k does or is close to it
2. I’d be always thinking of and looking for imperfections- e.g., is the car driving straight and is it solid (?)
3. Not easily re-sellable car, so it would have to be a keeper forever, but then would have to feel comfortable that it drives like previously undamaged car…

I’d rather pay up for a proper, clean example or a higher mileage car, but that’s me.

Agree that the price does not reflect a salvage title. For this amount of money, there needs to be a significant discount as the market is smaller, and the risk is higher.

I like the car. It's nicely equipped and black and white always looks good to me. If it checks out repair-wise I'd pay $150k but only if I planned to keep it forever or for a decade or so. Or maybe plan to pass it to my son or daughter. The market for salvage titles on 991.2 Tourings might grow more forgiving but could also grow less forgiving. It'll require a cash buyer thinking just like you when and if you need to sell. That's a very small market.

I would pass on this touring and convert a winged car to a touring.

That dealer tried to sell that car back in 22 and/or 23.

Nope. Not unless I didn't care about resale. Porsche buyers freak out about every little detail... salvage? Forget about it.

Not for everybody but my opinion: Inspect it, buy it and enjoy it - its a machine. I have no issues buying a salvage car if I understand its history. Buy it right and you might even make money on the other side. I have been lucky the few times I have done this and they all resulted in selling it for more than I had into them (a couple of 996s, a 997 and a couple of motorcycles). It should only be a factor in valuation - parts can be fixed or replaced if you enjoy that - I do.

With that said that touring appears overpriced.

Sure, but all of those you mentioned are worth
pennies compared to buying a 150k+ salvaged touring. Lots less skin to lose if something goes wrong.
