Default Help USED PSE Exhaust (dismantler)

Anyone out there familiar with a used Porsche Sport Exhaust (PSE)? Found a 13 981 S with factory PSE at a dismantler. Can this be removed and added to my car? Anything I should know? I am not a DIY-er, this would go to my local Porsche specialist. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Here is the link for the new version:

Thank you,
Chris

vacuum lines/tee/pump/source, the cans themselves, tips, and console button are needed. over in the 991 world the console button needs to be coded because that entire button set is a module. not sure for the 981 but I wouldn't be surprised if it were similar.

it's doable by your indy for sure.

I don't know for sure, but the suncoast link you pasted says 2013-2016 base and S and doesn't mention transmission so I'd assume it's the same.

You can infer this information from parts catalog from Porsche, too. It's available for free here --> https://www.porsche.com/usa/accessor...artscatalogue/

You can have the exhaust installed and it will work fine but only with the valves open. In order to have the ability to open or close valves you will need the vacuum lines, solenoid/pump and have the exhaust switch installed and programmed.

I have the PSE installed using an aftermarket valve controller from soul and it works great but is a key fob or through the home link to turn on and off. 99% of the time I drive with open valves.

I purchased the Suncoast PSE kit six years ago for my 2014 981 Cayman S. I did a DIY installation including the switch panel. The kit was very complete including a switch panel specific to the vin which would be different if it would be a Boxster (convertible) or Cayman and had the buttons for all the possible options like PASM and SPORTS PLUS. The kit also included all the vacuum lines, vacuum T, change over valve, and the wire with terminal connections that runs from the body control module (under driver seat to the fuse panel by the passenger side tail light). I would expect if you purchased from a dismantler you would need to supplement some possible missing parts ??? You may also need to dissemble both your existing and the new switch panel to transfer buttons if your options are different from the new panel. If you used an aftermarket market solution to control the PSE the installation would be simplified.
