Default Anyone have experience trading in a Targa

I have a 2022 Targa 4S with a manual. I know that allocations for new cars are easier to get when you have a trade-in. I'm curious about what kind of allocation I could get if I traded in the Targa. I wouldnt be looking for a standard factory model, so the main reason for this question is if anyone has had experience getting a GT or special edition car allocation with a Targa trade. It probably wouldnt be worth trading in unless it was for something special (with a manual)

It doesn't hurt the ask your dealer and see what they can do

Targas seem to flip more than any model 992. I don’t think they are particularly hot in the secondary market based on how many are currently for sale.

Where are you getting this info from? There arent that many for sale that I can see, even less manuals.

I'm not sure I understand your question - the trade in only matters because it's a way they can make money. There's nothing special about trading in a car. If you'll take well below market for your Targa, then I'm sure they'll accommodate an allocation of a car you want. It's effectively like paying an ADM, just indirectly.

There are over 100 for sale on cars.com.

Pay attention to the 992 cars for sale FB group. They are all over the place. Ordering new, hard to get. Used, easy

I do not think you will get any thing "special" in exchange for a Targa trade-in. It would probably help for a "standard" model

I do not think Targas fall in to the "special" bucket but I could be wrong because I am not partial for a Targa

I was offered a GT4RS, but that’s too hard core for me, plus wasn’t interested in paying for all the markups and addons. I got the 21 992 Targa 4S at sticker. Although they wanted me to pay for extras, I was able to get out of them, particularly the PPF since I don’t care for the quality of work the dealer’s installer uses. I actually take my car all the way to Richmond because that’s who I trust.

A 911 Targa is just like a 911 MT.

It will be harder to sell, but will bring a higher resale value than a comparable non-Targa 911 (or for that matter a PDK 911)
