Default Anyone know where these belong?

When working on the 1986 944, we noticed a couple of things that don't look correct under the drivers side dash board. One plug that is not plugged in, and what looks like an HVAC selector. Am I missing something for that threaded rod to connect to? Any idea what this plug is for? I'm hoping its a production efficiency maybe for the turbo car, and it's not actually something missing.

As always, any help is appreciated

Look at the wire colors and try to match them up with the wiring diagram...

The plug looks like it may be from the climate control head.
The rod will have been connected to the broken plastic clip above it.

The threaded rod issue is pretty well known; you can get a lot of information about it by googling something like "944 heat always on". There are lots of good posts about the issue and which part you need to order to get it fixed.

Cheers

Just as an update, I saw on another thread that this plug under the dash could possibly be a Porsche test point of some kind. I will see if it fits anywhere nearby, but this makes sense as to why everything works and it's just hanging there!
