Default 991.1 TTS Sport Wheel swapped for 991.2 MF Wheel??

Did a search, but either I'm giving the wrong keyword(s), or search isn't working right. Can anyone advise me if it's possible to swap the steering wheels as in the subject. Or point me to the thread that discusses this? Thanks

I swapped mine without any issues... It was just a straight swap... no coding or anything. I didn't have any buttons on my sport steereing wheel, so i replaced it with the same one but 991.2.

I believe if you're going from 991.1 sport wheel to 991.2 multi-function and want the new buttons to work, you'd need to get the GPS adapter sold here: (I think!)

gpsadapter — GPS Adapter

If you just want to switch to a button-less 991.2 wheel like @Stark7x described, then it's probably a straight swap.

Let us know how you make out! I'm also debating the switch from a 991.1 sport to a 991.2 multifunction wheel...

Will do. Been in contact with Paul at gpsadapter to ensure i get the right product. As subject notes, I'm trying to go from 991.1 non-heated Sport wheel to 991.2 heated multifunction wheel, but without the heated function. Other "complication," which i just discovered, is the 991.2 wheel came off a manual transmission car. Mine is PDK. More to follow.

If heating was to be added, is there a fuse and wiring already in the car and steering column to attach to, or would this be beyond a simple plug and play?

How were you able to tell it came from a manual transmission? Is there a part number associated to manual vs pdk.
Very curious, as I plan to do the upgrade also and found out the "mode switch" that was on the .2 steering wheel I bought was from a manual (no center button).
Manual:

PDK (note the center button):

That's exactly how, no center button. And the seller told me after i asked, and after it shipped. Honestly, not an issue for me. 560 hp is very satisfying to me. Don't know if/when I'd use more. I know, never enough hp, but i consider that for Detroit iron.

BTW, with that screen name looks like you came out of an RX-7. I had a 400 hp FD 1992 to 2006.

Just did the swap on my 991.1 tts to a 991.2 multifunction wheel (without heating, hands get a bit sweaty anyways...), honestly it was plug and play. I got the 991.2 wheel, got a 991.2 airbag as they are much smaller than the 991.1 airbags and are constructed differently, then a gps adapter to make sure everything talks together. For your question, yes you can get the heated steering wheel but get a GPS adapter that doesn't include a heating adapter, you will just have a useless heating button to fidget with at a long light lol.

It all together took less than an hour to install, just make sure you have a torque wrench handy for the steering wheel bolt and don't screw the airbag mounting plate too tight as your horn will possibly get stuck on tight. The GPS adapter instructions are really straight forward. Feel free to ask abt the process, happy to share.

Can I not take the airbag from the 991.1 TTS, and put it into the 991.2 cover?
