a couple months ago I launched the "SportChrono replacement gauge", which replaces the SC clock inside the wart with a digital instrument, which allows you to get accurate readings on oil and water temp and oil pressure.
Of course that leaves 997/987 owners, who don't have SportChrono out dry.
I now created a similar version of the SC gauge as a "standalone gauge" or as you could call it "the chrono gauge for cars without chrono".
I am now looking for one Beta tester, who will install a pre-production unit in their car and provide me with feedback.
Here is what I'm looking for
You are in the US (I don't want to deal with long international shipping times and custom fees in case I need to send you replacement parts etc.)
You commit to install the kit very soon after you receive it (I am looking for quick feedback, not in weeks)
Your 997 does not have SportChrono
You are someone who is comfortable in DIY projects on your 997.
Please have a look at the installation manual, which is up in the Documentation section of my web-site (scroll to the very bottom): https://www.997research.com/documentation-manuals to decide if you want to do that.
It is supported on most 997 but it is not supported on: GT2, GT3 and Turbo, so you must have one of the supported models. It doesn't matter if you have a 997.1 or 997.2.
I am looking for feedback
On the product in general
On the installation manual - if steps are not clear, please send me pictures and I'll incorporate them in the manual
Any problems/issues
Ideas for product improvement
If you're "the one", you will receive one kit for free and it's yours to keep (unless you don't like it and will not have it in your car, then I'd like to have it back ;-)
Interested? Then send me an e-mail to czulrich AT gmail DOT com.
Test fitting the mounts but love it. Install is straight forward, easy as opposed to mostly anything you do on a P-car! Other mounting options coming soon.
Chris, I understand that in the original project a round screen made sense, but for those of us who don’t have the chrono sport package, do you think you could offer another type of screen? A rectangular one would be easier to retrofit in the steering column for example.
