Default Who's done a Musicar audio upgrade? Happy?

There are a few musicar threads out there, but just wanted to have a general "here's my experience" thread...

Interested in upgrading the horrid Bose stereo, so just wondering if folks have had much luck getting in touch with Musicar and placing orders and installing the components... and, obviously, what your overall satisfaction level is.

The car is new to me, so I'm gonna live with it this summer, and maybe do the upgrade during the off-season. (I'm in Minnesota.)

Might do the whole thing, as I'm pretty sure upgrading only the tweeters won't cut it. I really think it needs a new amp. So, I'll probably do the whole shebang.

Anyway, share your install stories, links, headaches and tips.

I did the mc tweeter upgrade and am very happy, but also want the amp upgrade. Have not seen any posts by mc in a long while. Are they still active?

there was a thread a couple months ago asking that... some folks said they've been able to make contact, others say it's been pretty quiet. I did send an email before I got the car, just initiating contact, but I haven't heard back. Might call, but I'm not really ready to do anything just yet.

I have done my own makeshift upgrade using the same components and upgraded from BOSE. I was very much worth it for me. I did the mosconi amp, DSP, Dynaudio speakers and custom 12" sub enclosure with it's own sub and amplifier.

My car came with the base stereo so I did the full stage 2 upgrade. Speakers and amp. Love it. Highly recommended. I was lucky enough to have the owner come out and do the install for me. I know having the Bose is different than the base but I think you will be super happy with the upgrade.

My 991.2 also has the base stereo and I think one of my speakers is blown, it buzzes when there’s bass. Interested in learning more about what your upgrade entailed and the components that were used!

Stock is just oke. Music listening in a 911? The rears make to much noice to spend an extra penny on Bose or Harman or something.

Many have this feeling.

But beyond listening to the engine and exhaust notes while slicing through the gears and carving canyons, these are fabulous GT cars that eat up the highway miles. And these later vehicles are fairly quiet, especially with the 7th gear letting you float around 2K RPM at freeway speeds.

An upgraded audio system can be just the thing.

to be clear i drive 991.2 S nowdays . . So your absolutely right that its also a great cruiser . But the road noise from the rears while cruising (130kh/h) come on ... that way to much voor detailed listening.

I did the part one and part two upgrades. I did the tweeters which now show that I have a Baumeister stereo and I did the amplifier under the seat. Took time, but it all worked perfectly and the stereo sounds fine. I didn’t do any new bass response in the car. Also on step two was the insulation which I really can’t tell if it made difference or not it may have.

Nice.

The amp under the seat... Is that where the original amp resides, and did you replace it with the Mosconi that musicar uses?

Did you do it yourself? Any pics?

I went with the stage 2 upgrade that included the amp. Here are a couple pictures.
