Anyone seen one? I'm not handy but am considering attempting this install. Have already scoured YouTube but haven't found anything!

It's super easy. Where are you located? Assuming everything else is serviceable, it's an hour job.

The GR install is super easy, you just need to get under the car for it.

The SSK is a bit more laborious but still doable.

Timely thread for me! Mine is at 180k+ miles and the "self-centering" is dragging and spongy. From what I had read, the GR is the right fix for a "street" feel. So you guys who have done the GR: good feel without adding vibration ...much, or at all?? I want to rid the slop of course, but also upgrade the feel but not at the expense of NVH, which is why I stick with the stock fluid engine mounts, for example. And yes, as per the OP, a vid would be great! Nice to know it's an easy installation, too!

I installed the GR a few years back and while I'm happy with it, it didn't feel all that different to me TBH. I replaced the worn cups and bushings at the same time and while it definitely feels solid with no added NVH, it just wasn't a night and day difference as some Rennlister's described. YMMV.

I concur with ShdwFx above, although we seem to be in a minoirity. There's some improvement, granted, but not as dramatic(to me) as many here rave about. I also have Darin's ssk, and it too is underwhelming.

FWIW, I doubt I will be underwhelmed because I never felt the original shifter feel was lacking in any way ever (when in good shape as opposed to now, of course). I am one of those strange ones that intentionally don't want SS kits or the like because of the obvious compromises one faces when "improving" one aspect at the expense of another. I could replace it with stock rubber, but since the GR looks like an elegant solution and genuine design improvement I'm going with it over stock. If it feels as good as stock new, which is to say excellent, then mission accomplished. That it looks to be a more sturdy and robust solution while preserving stock feel is the added plus in my book

I had significant improvement with the Goldenrod. Prior to upgrade my shifter felt a little vague and non precise. Not bad, but not near as crisp as my 2016 GTI. Now the 993 shift feels precise and solid like the GTI's. And I don't notice any additional vibration through shifter. The GTI is also the reason I had to replace the stock 993 four spoke steering wheel. The GTI has a nice padded grippy wheel. After driving it , the 993 steering wheel felt slippery and hard as a rock. On cold days it was hard to grip. Rather than recover the original wheel which was in great condition, I bought a used three spoke and had it recovered by Chris at leatherwheels.com
Black leather, light padding, red stitching and snappy looking Porsche logo. Easy to grip. Looks badass.

To lengthen the ssk/GR discussion just a bit...
I've had this discussioin re: GR's and ssk's with Jeff Gamroth. If you check Rothsport's website, they sell FD's GR and their own ssk. Darin and Jeff are friends, collaborate, and there's no competition.between them.
I've driven a 993-2WD with the Rothsport ssk and GR and the shifting is crisper and shorter than in my C4S. I'm not here to sell anything!
My take is that the factory shift movements in our cars are rather long, compared to many oither sporty manuals, and any improvement w/o "comporomise" is valuable

Interesting point. I run the GR, RS SSK, and an IXI shifter with a 917 walnut ****. This is nearly the exact one I use and am very happy with it. I like the shorter shifts with the RS lever and this ****.
