Default 2023 Panamera 4S Production Numbers - How rare is this car?

Hello all, we recently picked up a non-hybrid 2023 Panamera 4S that popped up for sale in the area and I'm now curious into their production numbers. I don't believe there are many 2023 Panamera 4S in existence, plus it was the last model year of a non-hybrid 4S variant.

Per Porsche North America's press release they sold 4,205 Panameras in 2023. They sold about the same number of Panameras in 2022 & 2021. So, approximately 12,500 'Gen2.II' Panameras were supposedly sold in North America (someone can correct that stat if I did my math wrong).

However. On cars.com, sorting Gen2 II Panameras, there are only 227 for sale in the entire country right now which is 1.8% of the total production. And that is taking into account model years 2021-2023, too.

But when sorting by only 2023 4S trims, there are only 6 for sale in the entire country right now on cars.com. 6 of them!

6/12,500 is .00048. In other words, of the 12,500 Gen2 II Panameras that were produced, only .05% of them are 2023 4S & currently listed for sale.

While I understand that cars.com listings don't necessarily relate or equate to production numbers, it is the best 'statistic' I have at the moment in trying to find out the total Gen2.II 4S that were made into existence.

Porsche doesn't specify their production numbers by trim. So is there anyone on this forum who knows more specific production count numbers on the Panamera? Would that number even be possible to find?

Thanks, and sorry if I did the math wrong. Was just quoting cars.com and Porsche's press releases.

Your trying to make an estimate of the larger population os 4S's from a small sample. a more representative estimate would be 6/227 = 2.6% which sound low.

I looked at total number of 971.1 for sale and the number of 4S's in that population and get 79/394=20% that's from autotrader, That estimate sounds more reasonable. 79 4S cars were the sedan and ST.

The 20% may be on the high side for a 971.2 4S as the GTS was avaliable throughout the 971.2 production but only available for 2 of the 4 years for the 971.1 production. The GTS and 4S are similarly priced depending on how they are optioned. I suspect the GTS stole sales from the 4S.

My estimate would be ~15% of the 12500 or 1875 4S 971.2 cars out there.

BTW I just purchased a 2022 4S E-hybrid sports turismo and have a similar question about how many of these cars were produced. That's harder to estimate because it's a newer car but I know the total is low.
