I saw an ad for this aftermarket, shorter shift **** and decided to try it out. It's for 95B.1 and 95B.2. I went with their perforated leather version to match the seats. They also offer an engraving on the top button but I opted for no engraving so that I can experiment with a few different decal designs. I started with "PDK" in the corporate font that I made on my wife's Cricut.
Installation was fairly easy, they have a quick video guide on their site:
Overall, The extra weight from the all-metal construction feels better than the plastic OE **** and fits right into the OE interior for a subtle change. It's also a fairly easy swap back, if needed.
I wonder out loud if in the near future we will see an electric motor tied to a manual transmission…
I wouldn't be surprised, more likely from a niche brand. As of now, simlpy being electric is a differentiator but once many cars go electric, brands will need other things to differentiate themselves.
That does look sharp though, even if it is still an automatic.
Thanks, its a fun, easy, way to change things up.
Some have done the GT4 RS **** in th Macan, which this one seems to be based on, but this fits better in the interior and has the lower height for improved looks.

I keep wishing for this but I guess it doesn't make a lot of sense with most EV designs. Multiple motors would mean multiple transmissions. Still though it would be interesting to see someone take a shot at it.

I don't want to digress too much but some Taycan models have dual motors and the two speed transmission. I've never actually looked in to how it all works though.

To my knowledge it’s the only EV that has a two speed transmission… Anyone reading this of my generation remember the 2-speed automatic transmission on a 64 Chevrolet Impala? Sorry. I’m carbon dating myself here.
is it just me?
While I like the design of it, the PDK print on the top makes it very out of place in Porsche interior.
I think it fits in just fine among the 30+ other printed buttons in the vicinity. I always liked the OE **** options that had PDK on them. Without it, it looks a bit plain and I didnt want to make it permanent with an engraving. Here are some of the engraving options:

The Euro Impulse **** is essentially the same design, with further refined and improved proportions. There are definitely benefits to OE parts but what attracted me to the aftermarket was that it took the essence of the GT4 **** (that I was on the fence about) and applied it to better fit the Macan interior.
