Default I will dismantle my G6 engine to check the wear and tear of the finger followers

I purchased a second-hand 991.1 GT3 with at least 44k miles (35k miles on the G6 engine) on it. As I'm overly concerned about the engine's condition (I've owned a .2 GT3, but I prefer the .1), I will dismantle the G6 engine and inspect the wear and tear of the camshaft and finger followers (FF). I've already found a reliable shop and have taken the car there. I will update the thread with the condition of the G6 engine.

I have disassembled it for a check. According to professionals, the camshaft and finger follower are like brand new. It's hard to believe that this engine has been running for 35k miles. Now I think g6 is the best solution, at least that's the fact.

Interested as well in the results. Have them take good pics!

What's it costing in a China workshop?

Without including the cost of oil and coolant, it's around 500 dollars.

Wow, in the USA you can barely get anyone to put a GT3 RS on a lift for $500 dollars.

When my e-series motor threw the 'golden codes' I was told a $10K charge if Porsche dropped motor and found no FF/CAM wear/damage.
Luckily my internals were completely ground to raw metal accordingly, so in went a new G6.

Impossbile to beliefe...

If thats real, just replace the parts all 50k miles if there is little wear.

I'm super curious to see your pictures. I think the parts will be fine and all here can take a deep breath

Curious why you prefer the .1 to the .2, as pretty similar cars, with some improvements to the .2, least of all, the better engine?

price and exterior styling preference pops up a lot in these .1 vs .2 debates I've seen.

I'll be interested to see your results. I've got a finnicky F from 2015. 30k miles, 15k of which are track miles. It's been bulletproof until last summer and since I've had in order of occurrence: failed oil pressure solenoid that presented as FF symptoms, failed coil pack (no biggie), blown clutch vent line, and rear main seal + head gasket leaks. All on different track days. Right now it's in for a an engine drop and full inspection of internals. Leaks didn't present as misfires obviously, so I'm currently out of pocket for the engine pull and addressing those, but if we find FF wear, will be going the warranty route.

The appearance of a car is the most important factor.
