Default 991.2 C4S lived up to its fuel economy specs...

It was at 29.4mpg when I got off the highway for the last 10 miles of backroads. Glorious drive across PA, made great time. Most of the highway miles were on the PA turnpike. One or two idiots here or there but for the most part an easy drive. Never had to drop a gear to pass anyone. Only time I did drop a gear was in the tunnels for some immature pops and exhaust noise.

How's the calculated mileage after a fill? The MFD was never accurate on my 2017.

I recently had a quite long drive across the state as well, averaged just over 27mpg on C4, but my average speed was around 72mph. I wonder what the optimal speed for the best mpg is. Not like I'm gonna slow down to drive a few miles more, but definitely curious.
However the best I've gotten was in 981 CS PDK with about 33 mpg

Your trip gauge shows 28.9?

My wife has seen 32 mpg in a 991.1 with PDK and we were not going slow. She's gentle on the gas however.

My MPG is usually ~28 on the highway but that's all due to my driving style.

Big difference between 70 and 90 mph sustained highway speeds!

I put in 10.3 gallons, and I drove about 10 miles on the last fill up before the drive home plus a mile or two to the fuel station. Overall its about 27.9 assuming I got the same volumes of fuel back into the car as I started with. Still far from mythbusters levels of scientific or epa scientific. So the MFD is optimistic by maybe 1mpg? Still awesome for a car that can reach almost 190mph.

Yep got it into the mid 29's but I got on it a bit towards the end and the final 10 miles of light to light dropped it. I actually had it at 29 dead driving into my neighborhood and it only dropped to 28.9 when I was backing into my garage bay. Cruise was mostly set to 78 mph (70 mph speed limit) with occasional bounces to higher speeds.

Honestly, my 997.2 seemed to get better mileage on the highway at speeds in excess of 70 mph than below 70 mph.

these are $150k cars basically, no mpg number in the double digits is going to move the value needle for me, so I just don't look.

You've never made a long distance drive in a $150k car and gave consideration to when you needed to stop for gas? MPG's definitely never influenced my buying decision but knowing observed MPG's definitely became handy to understand when actually driving the car at distance and speed.
