Hi all, I just bought a Kaizen cup holder for my center console and the cig lighter is in the way. I would have to remove it to install the cup holder. Is there a proper method to delete the cigarette lighter? Looks like I could unplug it from the console but not sure if I can leave the plug loose under the console trim or if I need to install some kind of protective cap at the end of the plug...?

This is from the Kaizen website so it looks like it should work without the lighter/charger. "Some 911's have a cigarette/charger port in the ashtray area (Smokers Package). This cup holder will fit the same. The charging port can be relocated or deleted"

When you remove the plug from the power socket you are left with a female connector. If you wanted to be as safe as possible put a large section of heat shrink tuning over it, or use a high quality electric tape - and then just leave it where you found it

Too bad Kaizen (or someone) couldn’t utilize the power from the cig lighter to heat the cup holder (for coffee, etc).
