Default Is it possible to disable the parking sensor behind my front plate?

Hi all,
My new car to me, annoys me.. well not the car, the parking sensor that's blocked behind my license plate
anyway to disable that one sensor that's blocked?
I wish I could just remove the front plate but I live in communist Canada, where I'll get pulled over weekly without.

Thanks all!

I don't think you can disable only one sensor. Only solution is to move the plate. There are a number of creative center plate solutions members here have come up with, magnets, double tape mounts, etc. Do a search.

Yes.

@slimmn was telling me about this a couple years ago. There is a sticker that you put on top of the sensor that blocks it. The car will turn off the sensor as a result of this, because the reading from the sensor is invalid/out of spec.

The sticker should have come with the license plate mounting kit. Lemme see if I can dig it up.

Searched around and couldn't find anything about it, unfortunately. I might be misremembering the black sticker thing.

I did find a lot of mentioning of coding out specific sensors. Apparently with a programming tablet (Launch X431, Autel MS906, PIWIS, etc) you can code out individual sensors? If so, that'd be the ticket!

Otherwise, physically unplugging the offending sensor is the other option I saw mentioned alot.

Just get yourself an rho plate frame that doesn't block the sensor.

I second the Rho plate. A lot of adjustability and absolutely no problem with sensors. Also, they’re a Canadian company!

That’s exactly right - my tow hook license plate holder came with a set of stickers. If you don’t have them I’m sure you can find them at a local hardware store.

Picked up a Felt Chair pad -- Same size as sensor. PROBLEM SOLVED!! its behind the license plate so you cant see it anyways.
*** next step is to remove the license plate upfront and see how long It will take to get pulled over
Thanks all

@Cityfisher
When I get some time I'll post up a couple of pics of the magnetic mount that I made.....
If you're out to any of the GTA C&C meets I can show it to you.

The off center plate just looks weird! If you have to have a front plate, put it in the middle.

The real question is, why are you running a front plate?
