Default In-Depth 992 Carrera Exhaust Series (Flat 6 Motorsports)

Hey all, I wanted to start a new thread as we release some in-depth reviews of various performance exhaust systems on the 992 Carrera. Our goal was to provide a comprehensive look at exhaust options and ownership insights.

We are covering an overview of the brand, weight, dyno performance, material, fitment/compatibility, options, craftsmanship, pure sounds and living with the exhaust insights.

I personally lived with all of these exhausts (still testing more). We spent a lot of time producing this content as we believe it will be valuable for those interested in an exhaust system on their 992 Carrera. I'm excited to share this content with the community. We worked hard to keep everything as apples to apples as possible. We dyno tested every set-up as well which is going to be really neat to share.

I'll be posting new videos on this thread so they are all in one place. If you have any questions, feel free to post below or reach out to us, we're happy to help! Just a quick note, the majority of the systems we tested are with stock cats unless the system relied on its own set of cats that weren't compatible with the stock cats. We do have experience in different arrangements, including fully opened exhausts but due to the regulatory environment, we chose not to showcase those. In general terms, less restriction in the link pipe leads to more power, slightly louder exhaust tone and more turbo whistling noise.

I got the Akra installed for over a year now and love the exhaust note and additional growl. I do not have eliminated the cold start via a tune, i.e. the cold start is LOUD, especially in a garage at 6am.
However, for me well worth the investment. Would do it again.

Same here, love the improved exhaust note, and right, the cold start is really loud in the garage, but I don't leave the house early morning so no worries pissing off my neighbors. lol

Find any problems on the tracks or the twisties with no LSD PTV on the Carrera?

No problems, on a few lower speed turns on track you can feel the brakes trying to manipulate the yaw angle slightly under high cornering G's where the tires are starting to lose grip. Even with PSM off it still intervenes a little. I've never felt it doing anything on the the street or majority of the track.

So your saying the traction control is compensating for the lack of a LSD to some degree?
I guess your really gonna have to push the car hard to miss the LSD...especially on the street
You lowering the car with the Bilsteins probably make the world of difference too....

Yeah, some minor intervention. I don't think most would experience it unless they are an experienced driver pushing it hard on track. Even then, it's not super intrusive, just feel it a little in certain scenarios.
