Cat bolt removal
It's always one stinking bolt!
Trying to remove my catalytic converter, but just can't get good access to the inside top bolt. No good fit with my socks or wrenches...
Any suggestions, any pictures? What method or tools did you use? So close.

Thanks Rob, much more civilized method than Z.
I think the nut and bolt were both 10MM?

I was worried about rust and seized bolts too, but looks like everything must have been off recently, as all the bolts from the heat shields and cat (that I could access) were easily removed. Just one more to go!

That's right, 10mm was for the heat shield bolts. Thanks Rob, I would have gotten the wrong size.

Same as Rob. Two 13mm wrenches, one with the ratchet ring end. Ratchet allows a small movement between wrenching.

Adding a Fabspeed Cat Bypass. Also had one in my previous 964 and really enjoyed the additional mechanical sound and improved throttle response.
That car had a cat bypass and primary bypass. Great sound!
For this car, currently only have a secondary exhaust bypass (Swan's neck/long g-pipe). So by adding a cat bypass, I hoping for the same increase in mechanical sound and throttle response.
Just hope this set up is not too loud?
Thanks Spokes for 13mm wrench confirmation.

Will you also be running a chip to take advantage of the more free flowing exhaust? It’s my understanding after talking to Steve Wong that you really notice a power jump with the chip designed for a cat bypass.

I actually installed a 93 chip (cat/exhaust bypass ready) just after I bought the car last year. It was such a good set up in my previous car, I knew I'd be back down this path again. Wong chip is a must.

What kind of cat is that? How’s the sound with your setup?
Looking to replace my original unit in the near future, currently have stock primary and the swan neck setup and loving the sound.
