Default New Tire Size Question

I know that the proper tire size on my 2014 Cayenne S is 265/50 R19 and I currently have Michelin Latitude HP tires that will soon need to be replaced.

Here is my question: My good friend works for Michelin and can get Michelin Latitude Tour 255/50 R19 tires for 1/4th of the price of the current Latitude HP tires; how will this affect my Cayenne (besides the speedometer reading of 20mph/19.73mph actual) will this be detrimental to the handling, suspension systems, etc? Will the difference in width (10.43mm vs 10.04mm) affect braking, cornering, handling?

Thank you for any input. I do not want to sacrifice safety and performance but $425.00 out the door versus $1372.00 is significant - but is it worth it?

No, Greenville. Going with the proper size - not worth saving a few bucks.

i would go 255 55 19 to get the extra sidewall and still within 30in diameter. Either way its less than 1.5% i doubt there is any differences

Don't worry about the speedometer, it's probably already optimistic. You'll just make it a little more so.
