Default Servicing an RS in the Bay Area: Carlsen or Rector?

Hey everyone,

Bay Area resident who recently acquired a used 991.1 RS and loving every minute with it. With a service coming up, I wanted to see if anyone had feedback on Carlsen or Rector Burlingame specifically regarding their service department. I live in Belmont so I'm literally right in the middle of those two dealers.

I tried searching for opinions but mainly only found feedback on Carlsen/Rector for their SAs.

Thanks in advance!

Charles

I avoid Carlson out of principle due to their sales practices. Not sure about Rector but I can highly recommend Fremont Porsche if across the bay isn’t too far.

Carlsen sales is a dumpster fire, but I have to give credit where credit is due their service dept is on it. I work with Beto there, have 0 complaints always get a loaner and always on time/as promised

I really like Rector. I work with Joe the service manager. Great guys over there. I've heard Fremont is the best. Gunther is the man. But too far for me.

I imagine that you are getting towards the end of the warranty period. Once that is expired, you may want to avail yourself of one of the excellent independent Porsche shops in the Bay Area...

Mooty will tell you Fremont Porsche, and he's right. Gunter is awesome, but it's a hell of a hike for folks on the Peninsula. Carlsen's service Dept is good and dependable; I usually take my cars there.

I've been very happy with the service from Stevens Creek, but they're farther down the peninsula.

my cave is 2 min "walk" to Carlsen.
my cars go straight across the bridge on busy 880 to Fremont.
my friends in scarmento, Walnut Creek, mill valley goes to fremont.
hell I got ppl coming to fremont from Pasadena

Peter smith at rector is good
savedra at Monterey is good
christian was the only good tech at Carlsen, he left

but then again if you are looking to do "maintenance" or "oil change"
any moron can do it.

when you need to actually FIX stuff... well.

Had service at Walnut Creek, Marin and Fremont. I had problems at the first two but never at Fremont.
