Surface Transforms Carbon Ceramics Now At CMS
SURFACE TRANSFORMS ARE INCREDIBLE
Surface Transforms carbon ceramic rotors are, in our experience, the best alternative to -- really upgrade from -- Porsche's venerable PCCBs. Competition Motorsport is now an Authorized Dealer for Surface Transforms. We've been demo-ing a set of ST carbon ceramic rotors and Pagid pads on our 991 GT3RS before deciding whether to carry them and they are, in a word, incredible. What's the difference between ST and PCCBs? Conventional carbon-ceramic brake discs use discontinuous (chopped) carbon fiber, where ST interweaves continuous carbon fiber to form a 3D matrix producing a stronger and more durable product with three times the heat conductivity. This reduces heat transferred from the disc to the brake system, lowering brake fluid temperature and increasing the life of system components without sacrificing any braking performance. How do you measure carbon wear ?
On ST rotors how is remaining carbon measured? PCCB can be followed by dealer with special instrument to assess wear. Will this work on ST rotors also?

Brake dust is similar to PCCB. A little bit from track use but street use stays pretty clean.

The ST rotors are 410 x 36mm in the front and 400 x 32mm in the rear.
The refurbishment cost is $2,400 per set of four rotors, not including shipping.
