Default New to me early 997.1 Carrera S

Long time lurker on the forum finally picked up my first Porsche. It is filthy from the trip out west originating in the midwest. It is an '05 Carrera S 6 speed with full leather, no sport chrono, and god awful crests in the quarter windows. Yikes, I have to figure out how I'm going to get those off of there. It was due for its 60k service, and I just went ahead and had them do the IMS and RMS, since it was just starting to weep. I was going to have them replace the clutch since I was already in that deep, but upon removal and inspection it was very fresh. I am happy with the price including the bearing replacement and additional components during the 60k. I was lucky enough to find Russ at PMCI in Corrales (Albuquerque) just a couple miles from my place and work to perform the work. Looking forward to spending some time on here, but more time in the seat.

Always good to have a mechanic that will warn you off unneeded repairs!

Welcome!

Congratulations! Welcome to the addiction. That's a beautiful car (aren't they all). Not sure if I hate the crests... or love the look. It's different and unique.

Completely agree that is great to have a mechanic who only does the work you really need, even when you suggest it. Thanks for the compliments, I am a big fan of the car. The last fun car was an '06 Corvette Conv, but I never really loved the drive. The power was great, but the steering feel and handling were never what I was looking for. I had picked up a beat E36 235is that immediately felt "right" that I liked better than the Corvette.

Great looking car. My father-in-law has the same color S in an '06 and it really really has the "classic" 911 look. I am also a fan of the Lobsters on these cars as well. Well done!
