Default 44 991.2 GT3s on autotrader?!

Evening all,

I was in the market for a GT3 a few years ago but decided to buy some property instead (which turned out to be a wise investment seeing as what happened in the Toronto real estate market). I was still looking to pull the trigger on a 991.1 GT3 next year but then noticed a few things.... there seem to be a lot fewer 991.1 GT3s on the market vs 991.2 - maybe this is skewed because of the newer car, but I'm talking like 10 vs 45.

Did Canada just get a ton of 991.2 GT3 allocations? Dealers are still 'asking' for 20-30k+ over but eventually the law of gravity will apply I guess. I'm now considering waiting for the newer car to trade at MSRP. Looks like 2016 GT3 RS' can be had BELOW MSRP currently (which was a bit of a shocker to me) so I guess I can be patient....

These cars are not moving. I guarantee you'll be able to get one of the 44 for MSRP (or damn close to it).

I’m watching this market as well as I’d like to trade up from my GT4. Even in the last 2-3 months people have dropped their prices by tens of thousands. Patience will pay off!

Right on - I'm waiting for the 992 to come out next year and hopefully that will be a catalyst. I've waited years and years and always put it off in the name of practicality....waiting 18 months longer won't hurt!

I drove the Cayman GT4 and then current GT3, honestly my preference was the GT 4.
Just my opinion.

That being said I just picked up a Mclaren 12C last week and was. At Mosport today, F'ing astonishing!

991.2s were all bought by flippers. but then they made a ton of em to combat it. Market speaks

I almost bought one instead of my GT4 last year. The kicker for me was simply running costs. You absolutely cannot own one of those cars outside of warranty and the warranty Ian ~$8k per year and annual service is about $2500 to keep it all going. So before you do anything ~$11k as a base expense. And you’ve got a problem if one day you can’t put a warranty on it.

Plus theyre $185kish last year-$150k now. Would love to find a good way to own one without taking a bath.

^^ yeah, that looks like over 30k in options, so definitely below MSRP! Guessing the manual transmissions will command a slight premium or take longer to depreciate.

Lots of people got hosed and for good reason. Prestige Porsche is notorious for flipping

You are absolutely right.Car purchased from Mclaren Toronto. I Purchased the aftermarket warranty, service thrown in, and had the car wrapped in plastic. 14k km's, and from what we can tell no track time till yesterday!
After a long Hiatus felt Fantastic to be out there, in the Red group with Radicals, Cup Cars, and very fast street cars. Mirrors came in very handy.....

Unfortunately I had a defective Trofeo and could not exceed 240 kph.

Uploading a short video, will post later.

This car is a weapon! I've ordered a track alignment, too much understeer as stock, hopefully a better tire.

My buddy had the 12C Spyder in that Volcano Red or whatever it is called. I took it for a boot and it was amazing.

He’s since traded in for a 570 Spyder in a really pale blue - almost white. Beautiful car.

I was at the dealership for an event last night as well, 600 LT, 720, Just stunning.
Wife said I had to keep the GT 2, 12C is as you said, Amazing!
Personally I was fed up with the Porsche dealership BS regarding allocations, price fixing and gouging.....

Link to my rough video consisting of a few short clips from 2.5 sessions. I had a defective tire that did not inspire confidence at speed, had to back off early. Below Next time....

Man those McLarens are just so hot. I really hope that I get to own one before all this is over for me and that I don’t regret the experience. It’s the fear that’s keeping me away so far!

nice 12c. When I dream of mine I see a McLaren orange one with carbon interior and stealth. So hot.

There is one for sale at Mclaren toronto in Orange with Ceramic brakes and ****loads of Carbon, for less than the GT3.....

NO affiliation, other than the experience has been exemplary, and the car speaks for itself.
