No cup holder in 992
I bought a car with a cup holder but now I have a car without. Yes, the passenger one is of course still there but mine is gone. They claim they had to remove it for saftey reasons because it could jam the parking brake. On all 992s.
I need a cup holder!

Mine 992 C4S either have it. Since I understood all those sent so far do not have it

What?!? Yikes, that's not good. The placement in my current car is perfect - the a/c blows on my bottle of water and keeps it cool. The placement of the 992 cupholder for the driver is a bit of a mess for MT cars as well as it is in line with your gear shift arm. Maybe the door storage bin is large enough to hold a water bottle?

can you post a picture of the console? Wasn’t there a cup holder in the demo 992 driven by the press in Spain?

But yeah the position of the cupholder is more than unfortunate in combination with a MT.

Yes, that´s how it looks. Guess I can put a coffee cup there anyway and bottle in the door but I would prefer the old one.

hahah.... after all the drama about how much people hate this cup holder Porsche can't even deliver it with the car. crazy.
BTW I'm a fan of the new cupholder. Nothing like a nice beverage properly secured and well within reach to accompany you on a long drive

On a more serious note - was this really a 'safety issue' re accidental engagement/disengagement of the Parking button just below the cupholder?
In other words did you have the cupholder in the car initially and then Porsche in Sweden took it away from you, or more of a "we forgot to deliver the cupholder so here is an excuse as to why you don't have it"?

Exactly - now one of the two things that people gripe about the most has gone away. And with Janko Lind's "sock attachment" for the nub we can all be happy...

This is so strange. Wouldn't this have been tested before production?! It's a better look without the cup holder anyway, though it would be nice if there were a lid for the cubby hole.

First car 'recall' I've ever heard of for a cup holder. But it i should be easy for Porsche to redesign it so that it does not intrude over Parking button and mail the new one to every customer/dealer.
