Default Help identify this plastic gear piece

I popped off the passenger side interior door panel and this piece was laying in the bottom of the door. I can’t seem to figure out where it came from. The previous owner had done some modifications to the door speakers so it may somehow be related to prior people being inside the door.

That looks like the gear from the center console ashtray.

Thats exactly what I was thinking too. But my ashtray already has one and it all appears original.

Looks like it's part of #37 here, which is used to dampen the door storage cover.

That makes sense since the ash tray has one. I’ll check it out next time I’m inside the door.

Actually here's a pic that I found. It looks like it's a sub-component of that the part on the diagram.

Yes, it's the gear that provides friction. It's under that clear plastic cap.
