GT3 Rumors
So after my last post on this topic with Porsche executives hinting that the GT3 will remain n/a, it seems the pendulum may be swinging the other way...??
If the GT3 does in fact go turbo, I wonder what it will do to the value of the older GT3's? Will more folks prefer more torque/power of a turbo GT3 over the sound and emotion of the older naturally aspirated version..or the exact opposite? Lastly, where will this position the actual 911 Turbo future model. It would seem to me the Turbo and the base GT3 would be suddenly must closer in identity.

Dont like it, but a GT3 with a turbo motor seems inevitable.

The only source is from the October autocar article and we have since seen NA 992 GT3 mules, including a manual GT3T so it seems unlikely that the 992.1 GT3 is anything other than NA.

Sooner or later it will be turbo or hybrid or some of both. And it will surely be empirically better because in meaningful ways every iteration of 911 (GT or not) gets better. And for those who want an NA car there will be plenty of low miles used cars. Just like there are plenty of low miles used 997 GT3 cars for those who insist on Mezger or MT or whatever.

Wouldn’t be out of the ordinary to test that previous gen engine with the new body. 718 GT4 mules have had multiple engines for testing,

While we are at it....
The 992.1 GT3 will use the same/similar 4.0 that is currently in the car. HP will go to 520.
All 992.2 variants will be turbo or hybrid. NA will be history.

I have heard from folks that work for porsche that they are trying very hard to get something NA that can be sold globally but are having to engineer around more regulatory hurdles than the ever have before have not been able to draw any conclusions about which engine goes in the 992
