Default single/double chirp when locking; single/double handle pull when unlocking

I've got a 2017 C4S with porsche entry & drive. When I tap the door handle to lock it, sometimes it chirps once and sometimes it chirps twice. I can't tell if it means something or not. Even the manual isn't helping. And then, sometimes when I approach the locked car I can open it immediately with one pull on the handle, and sometimes it takes two pulls. I can't figure out whether the car is trying to tell me something with the different chirps and opening behavior.

Any help appreciated.

Hurricane can explain it best.

Basically if you tap your door handle quickly after exiting the car you'll get two chirps... If you wait a little bit you'll get one chirp. They each mean something.

2 chirps is a full lock. 1 chirp is locked but the door can still be opened from the inside without setting the alarm off. Something along those lines.

Also, regarding having to pull the handle twice sometimes to open the door, if the car has been sitting for a while, its in "sleep mode" and you need two pulls to open the door, one pull to wake it up and another to open it If you use the car regularly, if does not fall asleep and one pull will open the door. I don't know what the time period is for it to go to sleep, but it is probably a couple to a few days.

Thanks for the info. Very confusing. Even reading the manual was not much help. It appears I should have no concern whether it's single or double of the locking chirp or unlocking door handle.

Thanks much.

Was wondering this myself; thanks for asking the question!

This is a feature of Porsche entry and drive equipped cars. go read the manual section on Porsche entry and drive. One of the settings is for locking the car with pets or people inside. It disarms the INTERNAL sensors so the alarm does not go off. The other chirp is full sensors on.

Quick Reply: single/double chirp when locking; single/double handle pull when unlocking
