Name that Noise
Is this high pitch whine/whistle normal throughout the Rpm range? It gets loudest Closest to redline. Is it the varioram or a vacuum leak?? Any thoughts would be appreciated!! Thanks!

One of my previous 993s made the same noise. Gave it the good old Italian tune up the noise went away. Seriously though, check your belts, bearings, tensions etc..

Somebody snuck a turbo onto your car! But as previously mentioned, check the belt tensions and fan/alternator bearings.
I had a similar - though not exact - sound which turned out to be a fan bearing going bad.

In addition to the other suggestions, it could be the wheel on the fan belt sensor going bad. Temporarily zip-tie the arm back so the wheel is not in contact with the belt and see if the sound goes away.

I would try a non-Motorsound intake cover for comparison This very much sounds like an intake whistle to me. Which might be the Motorsound cover or an intake leak somewhere.

I severely doubt it's cavitation. The pump is not really working in a straight line run, nor would the noise be acceleration related.
I thought of something _really_ simple. Take some duct tape and tape over the small holes on the motorsound cover, See if the noise changes or goes away. To me it just sounds so much like the intake whistle. Additionally, see if your clutch coolant tube is properly connected to the aforementioned cover.

Steering pump cavitation is when an air leak is introduced to the steering pump circuit causing air to be sucked in. I had the issue on a different car, the steering was not affected, just made a terrible noise. Had a rat living somewhere under the car and one day when I started the car the rat moved and got caught in the belt at the front of the engine damaging the belt. The rat didn't make it. The mechanic who replaced the belt moved some steering pump hoses to fix the belt and introduced the air leak.

Blessed, deaf or both, the combination of my hearing aids and the marginal sound quality on my laptop seems to have corrected the issue with your car, but that's just for me.
Good thing to know my car will never exhibit this issue.
