Question 993 Steering Wheel - What's your preference & why?

I was looking at something to replace the OE wheel in the future & I wonder what was everyone's preference on diameter, concave or flat, leather or suede, spacer with adapter or not...

I know a lot of you are just gonna say OE, if so, have you done anything to yours (retrim, etc) by chance?

So many options and quite frankly I have had such little seat time in my 993 I thought I would ask you all.

Yes Google is your friend but I am asking what your preferences are and why.....

Best,

Paul

Just cuz it looks better than the 4-spoke wheel IMO

Many on here think the 996 3-spoke is a terrific option. It's a direct plug and play and far better looking. I love the RS above, but I'm a big fan of keeping the airbag

OEM 996 3 spoke wheel with factory red stitching and leather, silver-crested airbag. You wouldn't think it, but the driving experience is different using the 3 spoke wheel versus the original 4 spoker.

I have the exact same setup but a gold crest. I have been thinking hard about a Cup wheel though.

I went with the 996 3 spoke for Insurance Reasons plus Air bag. Its a Bolt On. The diameter is 360, I think. Have not tried but tempted to go smaller. Its an individual thing. Definitely more comfort.Better feel with thicker grips. Sheer Looks P Daddy Nailed It !!! There are other fitment Options depending upon arm length and hand size, the Grip/ Feel factor.

Another vote for 996 with a leather airbag. It's been awhile since I used an OEM 4 spoke, but if memory serves me correct, I think with the 996 setup you even get a better view of the gauges.

I really am surprised at the responses as I thought I would see a metric ton of different wheels here.... the 996 wheel is getting some serious love here!

I am in the minority here - I prefer the 4 spoke wheel and particularly in a non black color and when wrapped in full leather. I find the look really complements the ‘rad-era vibe of the 90s, and the thinness and size of the wheel lends a certain tactile experience that is lost with a modern and thicker wheel.

I agree with this. I like the original. If you are ok without an airbag the rs wheel seems great too.
