Thank You, Peter Krause
If there was ever any doubt that Peter Krause is the most brilliant professor of auto sports currently walking the planet, he dispensed with that last weekend at VIR with a 35-minute lunchtime presentation to PCA First Settlers instructors (while they loudly munched on cold cuts and potato chips). Despite the tough crowd, Peter waxed eloquent on the science of data interpretation and driver development. These are not easy subjects to swallow, but he expressed them in digestible sound bites. One of my favorites was his explanation of what he does as a driver coach.... "I help drivers get comfortable with being uncomfortable." It was Peter's way of noting how data doesn't lie (as our memories often do). To improve as a driver, you must push through the mental barrier of unease. There were other golden nuggets of wisdom, too numerous to mention. Thank you, Peter Krause, for being Peter Krause...and for being so accessible to us all. By the way, today (Oct. 23) is Peter's birthday.

Peter is one of the nicest guys in the game and to call him a fountain of knowledge is an understatement. He's also a hell of a shoe.
Happy Birthday Professor!

Agreed, good presentation! A decent AIM system is a tool I'd like to get in the car, although it would be a big impact my race & practice budget... Thank you FSR for having Peter speak with us; he dropped other nuggets of information beyond just talking about the usefulness of data.
The event went well. The rain on Sat. killed all but the last session for me, so disappointed about that. However, the rain helped my student (a first timer) a lot, by amplifying the need for smooth and thoughtful throttle application. He made a lot of progress over the 2 days. So that was nice!
And, along with the others, Happy Birthday Peter!
