Start/Stop Eco mode 991.2 GT3 manuals
Not a current owner but soon to be. I’m interested in the dredded ECO mode or also called Start/Stop.
From what I’ve read ECO is on by default in 991.2 GT3s
I’m guessing it turns off/ deactivates when in Sport mode.
BUT what if you want to rev-match, heel toe yourself? You need to be in ‘normal’ mode for this most engaging driving experience. BUT I’m guessing normal mode is where you get the intrusive ECO start/Stop mode.
How do you turn off the ECO feature when in Normal mode?
Is there a button to deactivate?
How can I be in the most engaging or spirited mode, rev matching myself enjoying life and not have to think that the car might cut out at a traffic light?
Maybe this his is a non-issue as there is an ECO fuse I can pull.
Thanks for help in clarifying.

It's a useless feature that enables manufacturers to improve on their CAFE averages. It has nothing to do with saving the environment or fuel and it is pointless in track oriented car like the GT3.

Ha.... in all reality you should google how much a start stop devise saves on fuel. Another corn in the gas con.

So if it is only there to improve on CAFE averages, it would have to save fuel to change those averages. When driving on the street (which I assume most of do in our GT3's), and not driving aggressively, why wouldn't you want to save some fuel?

I speak from personal experience only, but I have this feature in my truck and in my wife’s SUV. The first thing I do after I turn on the vehicle, is turn that feature off. The engine turns off and cuts off the AC when you’re stopped. The fans stay on but all they do is blow warm air. That doesn’t fly with us Floridians. It’s also pretty annoying having the engine shut off every time you come to a complete stop.

Don't usually drive a GT car in stop and go traffic.
Also in AZ it cuts off the AC compressors.
It's also dangerous and annoying when it cuts off the power steering in the Raptor. You try and get a jump at a light and the car won't pre turn.
All this for .5 to 1 extra mile per gallon in stop and go traffic. No thanks.
Better off to buy a Tesla for the commute. Get committed to saving fuel.

I understand start/stop can be annoying (depending on the car), but the thought of millions of cars sitting at long lights everyday burning fuel is annoying to me.
My Audi automatically turns back on on hot days when the a/c needs a boost from the compressor. If it's really hot, the engine simply won't shut off. On a Raptor, try turning the steering when the engine is shut down in the start/stop mode. I bet it starts back up automatically.

Life to short to deal with the start stop issue.
I would rather live in Utah and work at Starbucks than live in SF.
