The "Unofficial" 991 Sales by Unit Thread
How exciting...moderators please feel free to make this a sticky.
For the GT3 production data posted in the 991 GT3/GT3RS/911R section, another Rennlist member and I were able to track production via VIN numbers generated by Porsche. With that ability now ceased, another contact has been able to pull data for all 911 production by year and I'm posting it up. Please note that I know a guy who knows a guy who knows a guy so I won't be able to answer specifics as to this data except to say that its a month behind due to it being presented as Sales data, not production data; but there is a correlation.
We were able to verify the GT3 numbers as one of the first U.S. VINs we pulled was a 09/2017 production month car and its included in the October sales presented here. I'll give a shout out to Pors9 who is here on Rennlist and also has access to U.S production data and I'm sure he'll chime in.
Enjoy. We will begin with 2017 then 2018 to date information:

Interesting. "Total" numbers include an "unknown". "Official numbers" match Porsche published numbers. However, there's a "variance" in addition to the "unknown" number". Year to date 2018, the variable is 4% or 246 units. Close enough for government work, I guess. Thanks for sharing.

True...but considering last year's grand total was out by only 42 cars and 2018 trending to -9...these numbers are quite accurate considering.

for that year, remember most other models except for the T (only 2018/19) are sold over multiple years and GT models are typically sold over 2-3 model years.

Considering that over 17 million "light' vehicles were sold in the USA last year, Porsche's share was 55k or less than 1%. Broken down further, Porsche sold 9k 911s or 16% of Porsche production. This amounts to roughly 0.00053% of total USA sales So, any Porsche 911 is a RARE car in the USA, except maybe California

It may also be a function of Carrera production tapering off in anticipation of the new generation while there is an increase in GT car production. A clever way to level out production and sales.
