How many owners is too many?
I'm looking at a 2004 Turbo in Colorado that has had 7 owners all from East of the Mississippi.
I live in So Calif.

My C2 had 5 "owners" when I sold it.. 1 company car for MR A, - 2 MR A company "moved" to Delaware (taxes?), - 3 - MR A moved to NY put the car in his name and later traded the car in. 4 MR B bought it drove it ~3k miles and put it on consignment where, 5- I bought it with ~ 22k miles on it. So I would say it depends. How many owners did it really have?

Number of owners doesn't really matter to me. Condition of car is #1. I did luck out. Got a 2 owner car and second owner had bought it cpo'd with 8k miles. But car has had its normal 15 year old car issues

Condition means far more than number of owners.

Not directed at OP but just in general, I've never understood peoples obsession with the number of owners if the car is in good condition. Unless its going to be a concourse car or something I wouldn't care at all, probably not even then.

Well, for those types who want a "no stories" car and are willing to pay extra for it, 7 previous owners is too many. Remember though that this type of buyer considers 50k miles to be high mileage on a 15 year old car. And a repainted bumper cover to correct rock chips is "paintwork" enough to disqualify a car from purchase consideration. For the rest of us who actually drive our cars, it's all about condition.

I think some are potentially concerned about ending up with a 'problem car' that's been bought, perhaps not enjoyed, and then passed on....but yeah, a good PPI and some eyeballs should be able to vet out serious issues.

Not sure about the # of owners, more concerned about the east of the Mississippi. If it was a year round car i would be concerned about corrosion. When i searched for my car it was left coast only requirement unless it was a well documented garage queen.

Between So Cal and NorCal you should have a few good examples to choose from, given some passage of time.
My car came from San Diego, but it was originally sold in NorCal (Fremont). No rusty wastegates here!

These questions need to change as the cars age. Think about it, that car is now almost 15 years old. It's an old used car.

One is too many - 7 folks driving a hi performance vehicle in a high performance manner that does not necessarily align with my idea of hi performance driving - no thanks, to many things can be wrong under the surface.
