Waaaaaaay too late to the party right?
Might be moving to Ontario... and the hassle of importing GT car from US to Canada is a PITA.
Not many tourings on sale in Canada and would rather have WP RS in Canada.

Allocations done now until Oct/Nov for 2019, so I've been told.
Very hard to get one here unless you have a GT trade and are a multi car buyer or long time frequent buyer.
No such thing as ADM above MSRP here.

Is it really that much of a hassle?
The process is rather straightforward and there are US companies that make some of the paperwork easier.

So I guess allocation been out for rest of 2019 as well. Ive looked into importing but whats annoying is I will get taxed twice. Once in US and again in Canada. And being a Canadian myself, Canada charges tax on every random thing I can think of.

Should be another round of allocations within a month or so, so start calling around. But as posted above, slim chance of getting an allocation without a GT car to trade in or a connection. Maybe try dealerships in the middle of the country or further north - those tend to have less craziness around GT cars than Toronto or Vancouver.

And I believe you will get taxed on Canadian value, so our exchange rate is a big impact.

I think you'll see more cars pop up once more RS allocations come. I know somebody who I think is getting a RS and currently has a Touring, not sure if he's trading.

I did call Edmonton porsche once. Seems like they get 1-2 gt cars unfortunately.... if i have to import Touring, Ill just drive that around. I dont plan to track and Pdk for street use is just too boring.
I have a touring coming in. Did some research. Its 11% tax (exclusing pst) and $3000 gas guzzler tax. Crazy!!!

Ontario is very limited on allocations. I believe Ontario law doesn’t allow for new cars to be sold over MSRP, so you have to establish a relationship with the dealer similar to Ferrari in the US.
Personally, I think it’s a better system than going crazy with ADM. better customers should be taken care of (I say that as someone who’s only owned a single Porsche).

US MSRP: $187,500 (roughly $243,000 CAD)
CAD MSRP: $213,400
In short, not worth it.

Yeah, but since the dollar is so strong a Canadian RS is cheaper in US dollars than a US RS. That being said, I would never buy a Canadian car (no offense to anyone that has or would).

Ummm, it’s a German car. It has vacationed in Canada. It’s the same car. Do you vacation? You are still the same person.
