Default 991.1 C2S X51 Questions

Hey All,

A few specific questions for those of you in the know as I consider an X51 powerkit:

1) I have a 2013 C2S running a Tubi CAT-back exhaust. This is a non-PSE car. Any issues w/X51 compatibility?
2) Any challenges in the absence of Sport Design package and/or ducktail and GTS front spoiler? I'm pretty sure these cars could be optioned w/just the X51 and not the body kit(s)
3) Any other considerations e.g. warranty (don't think so), or anything else I haven't thought of?

Overall impressions also welcome from those who added after market.

Thanks!

So you are thinking of adding the power kit retroactively? Have you spoken with your dealership about total costs including labor. I believe your looking at $11K plus quite a lot of labor.

I have an X51 C2S and while the power kit is noticeable I would not say its a significant difference. In fact, I think non-power kit cars make more torque lower in the rev range and feel subtly faster at partial throttle. I think you would be better served going with aftermarket options.

Just my thoughts.

Adding an X51 Power Kit to a 991.1 S is a huge amount of labor expense. Teardown and rebuild of the engine is required. It's not worth that.
If you want more power, just add bigger throat throttle body, exhaust mods and software. Otherwise, just sell/trade up to a 2015 GTS.

I drove the 991.1 S and GTS back to back and thought the difference was big enough to be worth the expense of installing it on my GT4. My friend thought it was noticeable but not worth the $. Iow, ymmv.

If you live in the US with our low speed limits and don't track your car I wouldn't bother but if you do track your car and can spend time driving above 6k rpm where the x51 really makes a difference, the extra power all the way to redline is fantastic. It really makes the engine more exciting across that last 2k rpm.
