while we wait for the GT3 RS comparison....
Anybody with seating experience on 991.* GT3 and 991.2 GT3RS ?
In the video in post #2, Henry sort of mentions that there is not much difference the GT3 and RS -at least engine wise-, and he seems to "prefer" the GT3...I believe that in that video, or another one, he said he likes better the steering feel on the GT3.

Those who took the .2RS to the track, any feedback ? How do you compare it vs other you've driven under similar conditions ?
On the street, does the new firmer suspension make it too hard/harsh ?

In the video Hanry talks about .2GT3 and. 2GT3RS
and yes he prefers, despite somehow embarrassed for that, the . 2GT3 over the .2 GT3RS!
no real power difference,
the steering is more planted (the .2 3RS lighter maybe bc track camber)
he didn t like the .1GT3 though

in summary from A real pro driver
.2GT3>.2GT3RS>.1GT3RS
sorry Waxer...
but i am sure that wing will impress everyone at Car n Coffee ...

Oh, my. I just can't win.....

All this time and effort to score an RS at msrp and spec it the way I like it and now it's its....I don't know. this is just not fair!!!!. I'm done! Anyone want my .2 GT3RS? If not it goes out with the recyclables immediately.

This is soooo frustrating.

Alas, that 6:56 seconds at the Ring now means nothing.

Are the engines exactly same spec ? (GT3 vs RS in the .2)
Where is the performance gain coming from ?, the extra 20HP... engine mapping or some mechanical ?
Is PDK exactly same as GT3 ?

Suspension stiffer, more downforce, wider body, wider tires (on RS)
Are brakes same wrt GT3 ? (The cooling is not)
Weight I think is same also. (The wider chassis got compensated with magnesium roof, plus some carbon fiber ?)

Any other difference ?

Is PDK exactly same as GT3 ?
I believe Porsche that there is a 20hp advantage for the RS (they don't play games with this spec, unlike some others). But, this is 4% (and only at a small band of revs), so very difficult to notice the difference.

The last RS had 25 hp extra (5.3%) compared to GT3, but it also had 200cc more (5.3% also), so the advantage was there from idle to redline (not anymore).

While some people have posted evidence that there are many RS-specific part numbers, I have not been convinced that there is any internal difference between the engines (GT3 and RS). Seems purely a matter of side intakes rather than decklid intakes, BMC air filters (which also fit GT3), a Titanium muffler (don't know if simply lighter or better flow also), and a different ECU tune.

The PDK vs. Manual issue is not relevant for the way Porsche rates these motors (on an engine dyno outside the car), though in practice PDK does output less of its power to the wheels (more internal friction with wet clutches). And the ram-air effect is not relevant either (no wind on an engine dyno).
