Has anyone shipped a deck lid/spoiler before?
I've been kicking around the idea of selling my RS America deck lid/spoiler for a bit, but I'm a little intimidated by trying to actually ship it. Anyone have any experience with it? Tips or best practices?
and side note, anyone know what the going rate is for an RS A spoiler and the mounting brackets?

I bought spoiler and decklid a while ago and the seller build a wooden box especially for it. I thought it was awesome. Years after when I sold it I used 2 U-Haul clothing boxes folded on itself (double layer) and lots of styrofoam packing peanuts. No damage.
Thanks!

Wrap the spoiler in bubble pack and then pack the box with peanuts, so it doesn't shift around.

Thanks for the tips, Andrew! Do you remember roughly what it cost to ship? I know sans packaging it’s about 40lbs (and obviously pretty awkwardly shaped) so I don’t expect it to be cheap. But I’d like to have an rough estimate on what to ask for for shipping.

Originally when I shipped it from Florida to Calgary, Canada it was around $200 USD for the wooden box (not including customs). Then, years after from Calgary to Toronto if I remember correctly around $80 CAD. The weight is well within a shipping limit, the size thou, you have to get creative. I had to be very careful not to overshoot the long sice and only used 4 layers of cardboard on the edges.
Thanks!

Thanks Andrew! I really appreciate the help. Looks like I’ll have to get creative with the construction materials at Lowe’s if I want to offload this thing.

I shipped a decklid + RS America spoiler last year. I just took it to a UPS Store and they boxed it; it was $400 to ship from Oregon to Texas. UPS boxed it really well and it arrived unscathed.

Still trying to nail that down. From what I've seen for original pieces it's a pretty wide range. ($2,000 - $,3000). Mine isn't in perfect shape, but it's probably a 7.5-8/10. I'll probably look to get somewhere in between those numbers. PM me if you're interested, happy to work something out.
