Bump steer install
Anyone on the board install the ER Bump Steer Kit and with 16” e.g D90s wheels?

Thanks samurai_k, I have read your thread, great work. My issue is I have just installed the BS kit. All went well until I tried to put my D90 wheels back on. The ball joint / carrier thread which is much longer than the original binds with the inner rim of my D90s 16”. I see you have much bigger wheels than me. I have sent ER an email.

Assuming you are lowering your car and want to reduce bump steer, I don't think so as you need the ball joint to be as close as possible to the carrier. Here is a pic, notice the spacers are under the carrier and not above for maximum bump steer correction.
From a design point of view I think the ball joint is about 1/4" too long. See pic of the elephant ball joint on the left and the OEM one on the right. I had to remove my strut from the carrier to install the ball joint as it was too long to slide it into the carrier. As for fit, I have both 17" and 18" wheels and they fit.

Yes, I had to swing my struts out the way to insert the bump steer kit. No big issue. The problem is the thread is far too long and binds with 16" inner rim ~1mm. Also there isn't a lot of room left under the strut to lift the joint, ~3mm.
A question pending from ER. Hopefully they will have a solution.

I heard back from Chuck. I could be the first to install the BS kit on 16”. Possibility of shaving the thread but it does need to leave enough metal for the hex key insert. I’ll hear back once Chuck thinks about next step. Meanwhile 964 in its DIY wait stance

I am not sure if it is specific to the 964, but on my 993 both my 17s and 18s fit no problem.
@spokes nice custom ramps for your scissor lift! Do you have any details on the materials and build plans for it?
Thanks!

Back to the subject on hand and an email exchange with ER they suggest I should be able to take a ~1mm off the thread without compromising the hex function. A bit of careful surgery this weekend with the Dremel.

Here is the solution to 16" wheels. Using the Dremel I had to cut the excessive thread almost to the bolt. This takes out the hex slot. Not ideal, but you can still tighten to spec, and remove. I had to remove them anyways, I couldn't dial out the toe. Another email.
