1.2 GT3 rear suspension clank when jolted/unloaded??
Took delivery of my manual 1.2 GT3 - doing break in miles presently, just about 500 on the clock so far
Noticed when at freeway (or higher) speeds, if the car hits an expansion joint or a rough bump/transition (e.g. highway 'bridge') that makes the car jump or jolt up and unload suddenly, there is always a loud, single metallic clank/clunk at the peak of unloading that comes out of the rear end... if I were to guess it seems to be coming from the top mount area (and not from low on the car, e.g. wheels or brakes area)... doesn't do this on the front end... just the rear
Anyone else notice this in their cars? Neither of my 1.1 GT3's do this.
I know they put in stiffer springs all around in this new version... it almost sounds like a mono ball clank or when an aftermarket suspension lacks enough travel
My dealer had one of their very experienced techs do the PDI... can't imagine they messed that up...

Interesting observation...because I noticed that same sound in my GT3.2 PDK, and while I wasn't 100% sure, I put it down to some movement roll cage which itself does occasionally rattle (but that is a different sound). Then I got my Touring, and sure enough, I get the same sound on an infrequent basis coming from the rear. So it can't be the roll cage!
I have been told its normal but not what actually makes the sound. My Touring goes in for a Post Track inspection next week and I am going to ask them to take a look and at least explain to me what cause the sound.

Noticed the same noise on mine as well. Chalked it up to another "GT3" sound from the stiff springs on any bump the car goes over at speed? Keep us posted OP/Chris if you learn differently

I had the same exact noise on my RS, and it turned out to be the rear trunk (engine lid), and i remember i adjusted the small rubber and the noise was gone!!
Before adjusting it though, while the lid is closed, try forcing it down abruptely and u’ll hear it..

movement between the rear main & helper springs???

I had this on my .1 GT3. Had to adjust the deck lid, but it was more of a rattle sound over rough terrain than only on hard hits. I can see that depending on how off it is.

I had on a 991.2 GTS Vert ... it was really noticeable when getting on it in second and third gears, it almost sounded like I ran over a rock and it clanged under the rear of the car.
Had the car checked out and everything was where it was supposed to be so I just let it be ... it never resulted in any physical symptoms whilst driving, it was just off-putting to hear it. Its was intermittent though, I couldn't replicate it at will.
Not sure if it's the same thing but I thought I'd note it in case it is.
