Cool Nationwide wont insure my 911 4S b/c its a "Turbo"...

Yep. I've had mine-a 2017 911 4S-insured with nationwide for 6 months. They reveiwed my policy and because my 911 4S is a "turbo" they won't cover it any longer... I'm in the process of getting clarification (and explaining to them that the ford focus is also a 'turbo'). I'm assuming they think its a real "Turbo".

I wouldn't bother with them. I pay $135 a month with Progressive on my 2014 Carrera 4, that's with low deductibles and $0 on glass.

Context: 31 year old with a clean record living in Seattle.

That would be a pretty good incentive for me to shop around for insurance...

That's crazy. With so many new vehicles having forced induction engines, they are going to be cutting themselves out of a lot of customers.

x2 on progressive. Same age.
Gt3 , $65 a month IIRC. High deductible (did the math, if i'm not at fault incident in X months, net + to me, after X months) and i have highest coverage package offered.

Bloody hell, I need to renegotiate! LOL

That said, I have bad luck. I already had a new windshield installed and I had some hit my rear bumper in a parking lot in Bellevue.

They insure my 991, my KTM 1190R and home but they look at them as three different policies and won't bundle.

They are idiots. I have 2 large expenisive houses and 2 cars with them, plus my wifes fancy jewelry. The rates are reasonable since I get multi-policy discounts. But they are idiots. I suspect some new adjuster/reviewer looked at my car and thinks its its a "Turbo", not a 911 that happens to have a turbo. Idiots.

Need to tell them that is a turbo with a small t, the diet coke of turbos.
And as pointed out, most new cars have forced induction engines these days.

That’s insane and ridiculous. Must be an oversight on someone’s part. So I guess nationwide won’t insure any true “911 Turbos”?

I would toss it to an insurance broker, tell them what you are getting and for what price. Say if they can beat that price with the same or better coverage the business is theirs.

On a serious note, I won't use Nationwide ever again. Supposed to be on your side? When my Jeep needed some work, I naively took their body shop referral. The body shop fished all over to find second hand parts to fix it

Hell yes. More than 70% of the new cars on the road are turbocharged.
