Setting the record straight - the 911 T is a gift from Porsche
Too often I see ignorant comments here and in the press about the T claiming that it's all marketing since they could have gone lighter, used a different engine, included the S brakes etc. But the fact is this - Porsche gave us a gift by providing us with a cheaper way to get all of the good handling options.
That is all.
PS - Mine can't get here soon enough!

I agree, the T is a neat car that fills a niche. Based on projected ADM for the new RS, if you can get a GT3 for MSRP you can get a T and have 2 diverse cars for around $50K more than the ADM RS. And it appears the T will be very low production as there seems to be few allocations.

Your helmet may be a little too tight. It’s cutting off reasoning. I am a 13 time Pcar owner so few have more love for the brand or the cars. Do I think Porsche listens, yes, but only when it works for them as a company. Is the T a gift? Sounds like a nice car that could have been a little better instead of just another marketing 911 variation.
If they want to gift us, a mid engine platform with 500hp NA or Turbo, that they are capable of doing, would be greatly appreciated. Will I continue to buy only these cars, absolutely, but I’m not expecting gifts I just want to be surprised and delighted occasionally.

Let's dissect:
"I see ignorant comments here"
then:
"Porsche gave us a gift"
I laugh.

Corvette? Why Corvette? Doesn’t Porsche make a few really nice mid engine cars now, Boxster, Cayman, GT4, Carrera GT? What’s wrong with adding one of those perfect driver platforms with enough power to play with the Audi R8’s and others. Who said anything about a Corvette?
