Default Festival of Speed at Cal Speedway /Auto Club Speedway 4-20-2018 w 928s - VIDEO UP

The Famous Festival of Speed at Cal Speedway is being held this year in April. I heard a rumor that a 928 or two might be attending to race. There are also more stock groups running there as well. anyone in the LA area planning to attend? I'm seriously considering going back for the event with my 928. Its supposed to be one of the biggest PCA events of the year and POC is running under their club rules. Lot's of porsches for sure!

Yes, but "that" is not in my class...........however, put a sock in the intake and he might get the hp down to 375 and be a contender in GT3.

Anyone planning on going besides Mark? i want to come down, but i almost feel like i dodged a bullet after my last race weekend there, with all the motor destruction talk. it is THE worse conditions for the engine, based on all we talk about. longest high RPM duration, highest RPM duration and highest G loads and duration.
Plus, its a heck of a long drive to get down there.... no one else with a 928 racer, going to come out and play??
Mk

no word from rob, except from a few texts now and then. i cant believe with all the 928 racing talk , there wouldnt be more guys wanting to run in this event.. Its PCA too, so i think they have some stock classes too.

If my 81 wasn't in pieces and my 89 didn't have 202K miles on an untouched engine I would race there or at least attempt it lol.

I may go just for fun as it isn't to far from me compared to most of you guys.

Mark Kibort, seems like you should put the red racer out there in front of the pca crew so they can appreciate it, even of you don't run. Though i dont really know the politics of it, being so removed.

Its always fun to sit here and see the 928 racer footage, whethr is coke car, white zombie, red kibort, Australia, Ireland rally, etc!

Joe Fan's number 62. Been around for years but not driven as much as Mark A's car. Greg B stroker ,Threshie intake, accusump not drysump. Stockish rear suspension. Pretty fast car 😎

Im trying to make things work out to join in the race fun. yes, it would be good to show the PCA crew that it is unfairly classed based on their current rules system (displacement alone) heck the lowly 4.5L 928s from 1979 have to run GT2 when actually, with any other club's classing, they would be GT3 or GT4. (hp /weight)
I hope things work out so i can make it.. a little reluctantly, but interested!

Pretty fast, is an understatement.. .amazing that the little tweaks in the engine give this beast 520rwhp. (mostly the intake ) along with the body kit, which give it some better handling than the stock chassis. I drove it once in a POC race many years go . It was FUN!!! (to say the least!)
