OverRev Data: Would you be worried?
Car is a 2007 C4. Wondering how worried I should be about the below; not that I can do much about it.
Just got a durametric to turn off the airbag light after installing a new stereo. I actually finished the install in September, I just never got around to ordering the tool. Unfortunately my alternator lunched so since I was sending Pelican some money anyway I just threw in the Duramteric.
Anyhow, since I had the tool I looked at the rev data and, much to my surprise, saw the following:
Range 1: 993
Range 2: 147
Range 3: 1
Range 4: 1
Range 5: 1
Range 6: 1
All are timestamped at 1213.8h, car currently showing 1313.1,so the most recent incident was just under 100 hours ago. I purchased this car last summer and have put ~1,000 miles on it so not sure how soon before I bought it this occurred.
I am obviously quite irritated at the the indie who conducted my PPI as this definitely should be been flagged. But how worried should I be about this? It is ~80 revolutions in range 1 and 12 in range 2. I also don't really understand the 1 in ranges 3-6 (I assume this means there was literally a single ignition at range 6 that also logged as a hit in ranges 1-5). Do you guys that hit is legitimate? How would it get all the way up there and then only fire once?
Also I haven't tracked the car but based on the high quality tire pressure gauge I found buried in the glove box I'm fairly certain it was tracked by the prior owner.
No oil consumption. Occasional slight roughness at idle but that seemed to be present on all the 997s I test drove and has not changed in the time I've owned the car.
Should I be saving my pennies for a rebuild?

Nothing to worry about there. 1,000 hours ago is plenty long enough ago and Range 1s and 2s are fine. As stated before, those 1s are a glitch and not real overrevs - you can't have 1 range 6 while only having 1 range 3, 4, & 5 - there would be more 3s, fewer 4s, and fewer 5s leading up to the one 6, but they wouldn't all be 1s.

That's a fantastic report, range 1 and 2 are below the red line so absolutely nothing to worry about.....
If you want all the details 911virgins has a good article on their pages on how to read these reports

Here is the link to interpreting the rev data - as others have said - that report is nothing to worry about, rather glowing in my view.
