Need some urgent assistance!
Hi everyone,
I'm buying my 6th 911 remotely and it'll be my second GT3.
On the attached images you will see two red buttons. One left of the ignition and one on what was a switch blank in the centre stack. The dealer (a Porsche store) says the car has a battery kill switch. Which do you think that is and then what would the other be?
Do I need to hold them both down and twist the ignition with my toes? ;-)
Appreciate any help the hive mind can offer.

Race Car
Tough to say if that's part of a security system or just a safety feature for a track car. Most cutoff switches for racing are very literally switches, not buttons, and are usually mounted outside the cabin of the car where a safety crew could get to them not the driver

Nitrous switch, rocket launcher, seat ejection system. Could be anything. You would really have to trace the wires, at this point it could be a rats best back there or it could be nothing if the prior owner removed whatever it was.

OP, I would hope the seller would have tested them and let you know the deal....

LOL...thanks everyone.
The seller, an Authorized Canadian Porsche Dealership, said battery cut off switch...I checked out what could find online and didn't see anything like this.

Radar Detector, built in? Look in front grill openings for the small black sensor, it may be behind the bumper skin. Also, there may be a sensor in the rear tail light.
My 6GT3 had one with little red lights where your red buttons are.
"Nitrous switch, rocket launcher, seat ejection system." would be best though.
Good luck.

Could be a solid state battery isolator, like the one from Cartek, although their buttons are normally blue. http://www.cartekmotorsport.com/battery_isolators.html
the Armtech one uses a red button. http://www.armtech.co.uk/page6.html

The PPI on the GT3 I just bought (and don't have yet) mentioned that there was a plugged hole under the key, they didn't know what it was for.
Later the shop who pinned the pipes and did other work said that the hole was probably for a switch for the cool suit that came with the car.

Whatever it may be, it shouldn't be difficult for an autoelectrician to remove it to return everything back to stock. What's that saying though...assumption is the mother of all...
I personally dislike aftermarket gadgets of any kind on my cars unless they're hidden or look factory.

You can always revert what was installed. It looks simple from the pictures, but...
The nightmare is the wiring behind the dash. Hopefully, no one has cut and spliced into the car's harness for power and ground connections.
