Default Allocations - any idea?

Trying my damndest to get someone to provide me an allocation on a Carrera GTS Targa 4. Literally can't seem to find anyone willing to give me one so I can buy one of these cars. Anyone have any good ideas?

How far have you expanded your search? 991.2 allocation is slim these days...

Why are they so slim? They are still making cars. Where are they going?

Well, 991.2 is nearing EOL and to be frank, sports car sales in the U.S. are down across the board.

I thought PAG was shifting allocations to Europe before the new EU emissions kick in. I have no personal knowledge.....just repeating what others have posted.

When I searched for a .1 GTS Targa I looked nationally. Not a lot of Targa's are made. Many are spoken for.

Expand your geographic search. And best of luck as Targas rock!

I was looking for a 991.2 C2 GTS coupe. Even put money down on an order but, after a month of nothing from my local dealer I searched nationally and nothing showed up. Best estimate was 18q4 delivery.

So I gave up and found a car on a lot that was close to my ask. Good luck on your search, it's not a fun process.

Amazing that folks put themselves through this. Reminds me of a rat in the wheel.

Yes, I don't think U.S. sales are much of a factor in this case but I read that they're trying to pump out as many GT3s and RSs as they can before they wrap up the 991 production for good at the end of the year, which leaves less room for the other models.

My dealer told me no more 2018 allocations for the U.S., when I asked about placing a factory order. He told me I would have to order a 2019 since the remaining 2018’s were allocated to Europe and China.

So are USA dealers get fewer cars than last year? If so kind of a tough position mother Porsche has put dealers in despite high profit margins.

Just hearsay but I heard that guys were told that there were also no US allocations for 718s. Maybe Angela Merkel is pissed off at Trump.

They had a hard time selling the cars they had last year. 2 door cars that is. SUV's are flying off the lots.

" They had a hard time selling the cars they had last year. 2 door cars that is. SUV's are flying off the lots. "

Does it have to do with the turbo engines ?
